Our Mission
Messy Hands Happy Hearts aims to inspire and empower people of all ages in realizing that each and every one of us are creative, happy, loving & compassionate beings.
We do this by incorporating imagination, visual arts & gentle yoga postures to inspire people of all ages to challenge their MINDS, engage their HEARTS & use their HANDS to create, discover, invent, witness, explore, and communicate ideas so as to appreciate themselves and find meaningful connections with each other & the world around them.

About ME - Tiziana D'Angelo or... Ms.Tiz as the kids like to call me
In 1994 I began exploring with colour through painting and soon realized that I had a passion for visual arts.
I started a summer art camp and called it MESSY HANDS because I wanted to share this wonderful 'feeling' of creating with others. Shortly after, I began teaching workshops in schools to both students and teachers. I also began hosting parties because kids realized that art made them SO happy that they wanted it for their birthday too. I decided to combine my love for art and teaching and in 1997 I received my Bachelor of Education.
I was hired with the YCDSB in 1997 and taught within the school system for 2 years. During that time, I remember having a dream about children painting inside a bus. The dream was so vivid and I thought it was such a cool idea, that I decided to take time off from teaching, and manifest this idea of kids painting in a bus. I bought an old school bus, removed the seats, and painted it into a groovy art studio on wheels! In November 1999, the first MESSY HANDS Art Bus was born and grew into several buses plus a studio by 2001!

I now operated a business with 18 employees, 3 mobile buses and a studio in Hillcrest Mall. All was good but managing all this was a little overwhelming for me. I felt like I no longer controlled my business. My business controlled me. Taking care of messy hands gave me no time for taking care of me and doing what I loved most--painting and teaching the joys of art. This was what my employees did. I realized things needed to change.
In 2011, I said goodbye to the last messy hands bus. I was free as a bird with no buses and no employees.
During these past 4 years, I have been teaching school programs, weekend art classes & summer camps and truly enjoying the joys of teaching.
In the Summer of 2014, I realized that I wanted to re-introduce the concept of the mobile art studio. In the autumn of October 2014, I purchased the new Messy Hands mobile trailer. I am thrilled to once again offer birthday parties, school workshops and be a part of community events in the new mobile art studio!
I have also become a certified children's yoga teacher and will also complete my 200hour Yoga Teacher Training in May 2014. I am so excited to be incorporating yoga tools and techniques into my programs & now also teaching adults too!
I find true inner joy inspiring children (and now adults too) to realize the love, wonder and beauty within themselves through art explorations and yoga. This genuinely makes my heart happy!
